For more than 55 years, Society of the Arts has been supporting the mission and outreach of the Allentown Museum. AAM visitors encounter the friendly, knowledgeable women of SOTA leading tours of the exhibits and helping with family art activities.
Children and adults of all ages meet SOTA members who “take the Museum to the community” by giving presentations in schools, clubs and festivals.
Visitors to SOTA’s fabulous Show House fundraiser experience our group’s creativity and planning capabilities. These are just a few examples of the many ways that SOTA women are involved inside and outside the museum.
When you join SOTA, you join a network of talented, hard-working women who are helping to empower, energize, and engage the Lehigh Valley community.
SOTA members serve as docents, work in the Museum store, staff hands-on art stations at events, help with special projects in the museum, and assist the curatorial staff with researching, cataloging, and prepping for new exhibitions.
From black-tie galas to afternoon luncheons, SOTA organizes a full schedule of events to aide the AAM's fundraising goals.
SOTA is passionate about "bringing the Museum to the community." Our members serve as field docents and our ArtEdventures committee dedicates countless hours assisting with children and family programming.
