SOTA Show house
april 30-May 15, 2022

Society of the Arts (SOTA) is proud to announce the return of its premier fundraising event, the SOTA Show House, set for April 30-May 15. The SOTA Show House, a fundraising effort to support the Allentown Art Museum, highlights local Lehigh Valley Designers and Landscapers and features events including a luncheon and fashion show, craft beer tastings, and shopping opportunities at SOTA's Boutique in the Alley.

“The SOTA Show House has been producing incredible events throughout the Lehigh Valley, and we are thrilled to see it return this year,” said SOTA President Val Johnson. “With the current global pandemic underway, we are proud to be able to provide a safe way to continue to support the Allentown Art Museum as well as our local small businesses.”

About Society of the Arts

Society of the Arts (SOTA) is a nonprofit cultural organization founded in 1964 with a mission to support the Allentown Art Museum's presentation of outstanding artistic programs. Throughout the year, the SOTA offers a number of public events, including docent tours, art activities for children and families, Luncheon with the Authors, the SOTA Show House, and more. Throughout our fifty-year history, SOTA has contributed generously to the Allentown Art Museum. Our gifts have included funds for the purchase of more than 350 prints for the Museum’s collections through the SOTA Print Fund, the creation of the SOTA Education Endowment, and financial support for “Free Sundays,” “Art Ways” and other Museum educational needs. Society of the Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

SOTA is dedicated to advancing and promoting the mission of the Allentown Art Museum, in our community and beyond.

Margaret Pook Interior Design

Margaret Pook Interior Design LLC has been in business since 2000.  Classically trained in Interior Design, Margaret (who goes by Peggy) loves the complexity of gathering pieces over time, layering antiques and artwork with well proportioned furnishings.  A home should look curated, not decorated.   Whether the design request is for a traditional interior or a modern interior; proportion, elegance and practicality reign in my design world.

A well designed home should reflect the owner and look curated, not decorated.

Wandra Cain

WCa interiors

For over 15 years, Wandra has found  joy in talking to her clients about how to create their place of solace and tranquility. She not only focuses on the beauty of the space, but also on making sure that function and comfort harmonize. Your home, she says, should tell the story of who you are and be a collection of what you love.

“I have learned to listen for the smallest details that matter the most to my clients,” she says. And when those big reveals happen at the end of a project, the smiles on her clients’ faces are worth every ounce of the creativity and hard work it took to get there. “Full-service design for me,” she notes, is from concepts to the last detail being placed.”

In a world full of designers, Wandra aims to be the person whose engaging, positive attitude and passion for what she does shine through in every client interaction and in every project they trust her with.

Shweta Jojodia

SJ Interiors

At SJ INTERIORS LLC, the individual needs of each client are  realized by thoughtful, collaborative research into lifestyle,  geographic location, and architecture. I work by listening  respectfully to my clients in order to create projects that help  them live and that make life easier. All my designs are born from  the conviction that they influence the lives of those who use them.

My work does not belong to any one style; instead I seek to find  the best response to my client’s aesthetic sensibilities. I strive for  an end product that exceeds my client’s expectations. It remains  my goal to amaze, to be subtle, to be inventive, and most  importantly, to delight.

Oswald Painting

Oswald Painting is a family business consisting of David, Nora and Prason Oswald who have been working in homes and businesses for over thirty years.  In addition to painting an paperhanging, the Oswald family has created murals, tromp l'oeil, faux bois, faux stone, and semi-precious stone finishes, decorative plaster treatments, as well as many furniture re-imaginings for our clients.  We have been privileged to work in homes from New York to South Carolina and many points  in between- including almost every SOTA Show House in support of the great Allentown Art Museum.

RE:find is a home furnishings store with a twist.  Ron Susser has blended his background in luxury retail (most recently with Tiffany & Co.) with Jon Clark's somewhat quirky, but high end aesthetic from years of running Home & Planet in Bethlehem, to create a truly one of a kind, and acclaimed shopping destination.

From contemporary upholstered furniture to vintage finds, accessories, gifts and fine art, RE:find has something for everyone, but those with a little passion for the unique or one-of-a-kind, may be particularly drawn to our designs.
